Adjunct Professor and Principal at Locraft Architecture

Martin Locraft, AIA is a graduate of the CUA School of Architecture and Allied Arts (BS Arch '01 & M Arch '03) and is a practicing architect in Washington, DC. He has spent the majority of his career working on custom single-family residential projects throughout the Metro Area, as well as vacation homes in Western Maryland and South Carolina, and a picturesque estate in rural Connecticut. For the last decade, his focus has been primarily on extensive renovations and additions, which often require an intimate understanding of existing structure, and a pronounced attention to detail. He believes in strong client and contractor relationships, the value of efficient design, and embraces each opportunity to create spaces that respond appropriately to needs and context.

In the Spring of 2025, he joined the faculty at his alma mater, where he currently teaches a second-year design studio. A resident of Capitol Hill for nearly 15 years, when he is not at CUA or at his desk, he can usually be found roaming around the District on foot or two wheels. He is a frequent visitor of art museums, a relentless urban explorer and an avid photographer.
